Deeds of King Henry V

Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

Biography of Bryan Walter Guiness 2nd Baron Moyne 1905-1992

On 24th June 1903 [his father] Walter Guiness 1st Baron Moyne (age 23) and [his mother] Evelyn Erskine Baroness Moyne (age 20) were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Shipley Gordon Stuart Erskine 14th Earl Buchan (age 53). He the son of [his grandfather] Edward Guiness 1st Earl Iveagh (age 55) and [his grandmother] Adelaide "Dodo" Guinness (age 59).

On 27th October 1905 Bryan Walter Guiness 2nd Baron Moyne was born to [his father] Walter Guiness 1st Baron Moyne (age 25) and [his mother] Evelyn Erskine Baroness Moyne (age 22).

14th November 1928. Daily Mirror. Dubtant to Wed. Engagment of Hon. [his future wife] Diana Freeman-Mitford (age 18) to Cabinet Minister's Son.

One of the prettiest debutants of the year is to marry the son of a Cabinet Minister.

The engagement was announced last night of the Hon. Diana Freeman-Mitford, third daughter of [his future father-in-law] Lord (age 50) and [his future mother-in-law] Lady (age 48) Redesdale, and Mr. Bryan Guiness (age 23), elder son of Colonel [his father] Walter Guiness (age 48), Minster of Agriculture, and Lady [his mother] Evelyn Guiness (age 45).

David Freeman-Mitford 2nd Baron Redesdale: On 13th March 1878 he was born to Algernon Freeman-Mitford 1st Baron Redesdale and Clementina Gertrude Helen Ogilvy. In February 1904 David Freeman-Mitford 2nd Baron Redesdale and Sydney Bowles Baroness Redesdale were married. On 17th August 1916 Algernon Freeman-Mitford 1st Baron Redesdale died. His son David succeeded 2nd Baron Redesdale of Redesdale in Northumberland. Sydney Bowles Baroness Redesdale by marriage Baroness Redesdale of Redesdale in Northumberland. On 17th March 1958 David Freeman-Mitford 2nd Baron Redesdale died. His brother Bertram succeeded 3rd Baron Redesdale of Redesdale in Northumberland.

Evelyn Erskine Baroness Moyne: On 24th June 1903 Walter Guiness 1st Baron Moyne and she were married. She the daughter of Shipley Gordon Stuart Erskine 14th Earl Buchan. He the son of Edward Guiness 1st Earl Iveagh and Adelaide "Dodo" Guinness. The London Gazette 33793. Whitehall, January 28, 1932. The KING has been pleased, by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm, bearing date the 21st instant, to confer the dignity of a Baron of the United Kingdom upon the Right Honourable Walter Edward Guinness, D.S.O., and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, style and title of Baron Moyne of Bury St. Edmunds in the County of Suffolk. [she by marriage Baroness Moyne of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.] In 1939 she died.

On 30th January 1929 Bryan Guiness (age 23) and Diana Mitford (age 18) were married at St Margaret's Church, Westminster [Map].

6th February 1929. The Sketch. The marriage of Mr. Bryan Guinness (age 23), son of the Hon. Walter Guinness, to the Hon. [his wife] Diana Mitford (age 18), third daughter of Lord and Lady Redesdale, was solemnised at St. Margaret's, Westminster [Map]. The lovely nineteen-year-old bride was attended by eleven bridesmaids.

Note. Her sisters [his sister-in-law] Nancy (age 24) and [his sister-in-law] Unity (age 14) were two of the eleven bridesmaid. Her younger sisters [his sister-in-law] Jessica Lucy Freeman-Mitford (age 11) and [his sister-in-law] Deborah Vivien Mitford Duchess Devonshire (age 8) were unwell but threw rice as her car passed.

On 16th March 1930 [his son] Jonathan Bryan Guinness 3rd Baron Moyne was born to Bryan Walter Guiness 2nd Baron Moyne (age 24) and [his wife] Diana Mitford (age 19). He married (1) 1951 Ingrid Wyndham and had issue.

In June 1933 Bryan Walter Guiness 2nd Baron Moyne (age 27) and Diana Mitford (age 22) were divorced.

Devon-based newspaper the Western Times reported how 'the Hon. Diana Guinness was granted a decree nisi by Lord Merrivale in the Divorce Court yesterday on the ground of the adultery of her husband, the Hon. Bryan Walter Guinness, who did not defend the suit.'

According to Mrs. Guinness's case she and her husband were perfectly happy until after the birth of their second child in 1931. Differences arose, and there were quarrels. In February, 1933, a deed of separation was entered into. A month later Mrs. Guinness received from her husband a letter stating that he had stayed with Miss Isolde Field at a Brighton hotel.

On 6th October 1936 Oswald Mosley 6th Baronet (age 39) and [his former wife] Diana Mitford (age 26) were married.

In 1939 [his mother] Evelyn Erskine Baroness Moyne (age 56) died.

On 19th April 1941 Andrew Cavendish 11th Duke Devonshire (age 21) and [his former sister-in-law] Deborah Mitford (age 21) were married. He the son of Edward William Spencer Cavendish 10th Duke Devonshire (age 45) and Mary Alice Gascoyne-Cecil Duchess Devonshire (age 45).

At the commencement of their honeymoon Deborah 'stopped the car when starting on her honeymoon and registered at a small Labour Exchange for National Service,' as per The Sketch.

On 6th November 1944 [his father] Walter Guiness 1st Baron Moyne (age 64) was assassinated. Eliyahu Bet-Zuri and Eliyahu Hakim of the Jewish terrorist group Lehi waited for Moyne near his home in Cairo. Moyne arrived in his car with his driver, Lance Corporal Arthur Fuller, his secretary, Dorothy Osmond, and his ADC, Major Andrew Hughes-Onslow. The ADC went to open the front door of the residence and the driver got out to open the door for Moyne. They were suddenly told not to move, as Bet-Zuri emerged and shot Fuller in the chest, causing him to collapse in the driveway and bleed to death in minutes. Hakim then pulled the car door open and fatally shot Moyne three times. His son Bryan (age 39) succeeded 2nd Baron Moyne of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.

On 26th November 1950 Edward William Spencer Cavendish 10th Duke Devonshire (age 55) died. His son Andrew (age 30) succeeded 11th Duke Devonshire, 14th Earl Devonshire, 6th Earl Burlington, 14th Baron Cavendish Hardwick. [his former sister-in-law] Deborah Vivien Mitford Duchess Devonshire (age 30) by marriage Duchess Devonshire. On 24th December 1988 Mary Alice Gascoyne-Cecil Duchess Devonshire (age 55) died. Both the Duke and Duchess were buried in the Cavendish Plot, St Peter's Church, Edensor [Map].

Chronicle of a Bourgeois of Valenciennes

Récits d’un bourgeois de Valenciennes aka The Chronicle of a Bourgeois of Valenciennes is a vivid 14th-century vernacular chronicle written by an anonymous urban chronicler from Valenciennes in the County of Hainaut. On 10th February 1951 [his brother-in-law] Oswald Phipps 4th Marquess Normanby (age 38) and [his sister] Grania Guinness Marchioness of Normanby (age 30) were married. She by marriage Marchioness Normanby. He the son of Constantine Phipps 3rd Marquess Normanby and Gertrude Stansfeld Foster Marchioness Normanby.

In 1963 [his son] Jonathan Bryan Guinness 3rd Baron Moyne (age 32) and [his daughter-in-law] Ingrid Wyndham (age 32) were divorced. Later that year she married his second cousin Henry Paul Channon 1st Baron Kelvedon (age 27).

On 6th July 1992 Bryan Walter Guiness 2nd Baron Moyne (age 86) died. His son Jonathan (age 62) succeeded 3rd Baron Moyne of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.

On 11th August 2003 [his former wife] Diana Mitford (age 93) died.
